Because truly, I’ve found that in order to radiate your unique beauty…it’s a two fold act.

First, you have to spend some quality time, giving your body some sensual care…and this very act of Self-Care adds some incredible sparkle…

And second, I believe we are each the most beautiful…when we love and appreciate our unique beauty…You just can’t get to “beautiful”– without that essential step!

So without further ado…one of my favorite daily self-love & beauty care routines…

 

Is inspired by an ancient ayurvedic practice called Abhyanga…

I first learned this practice from Aryuvedic nutritionist (and rockin dancer) Talya Lutzker…

And it basically involves smoothing oil all over your skin…and rubbing in the oil in a certain pattern that actually helps massage your lymph system…while loving and appreciating your body at the same time…

 

And I love using Coconut Oil!

Coconut Oil is one of my favorite all-over body moisturizers…and as a powerful, super healthy saturated fat. with essential fatty acids…

And Coconut Oil has been proven through a double-blind study, with people with dry skin…to improve the moisture and lipid content of the skin.

One thing though…I don’t use Coconut Oil on my face during the day…as it’s also a great make-up remover!

I usually only use it on my face at night and during the winter…and it can be deeply moisturizing.

 

Love Your Body Get Ready Tip:

now here’s how to get the maximum self-love & health results from this practice:

1. I usually stand on a washable bath mat or another towel so that I don’t get oil everywhere… Or I sit down, adding an extra towel to the commode lid…

And you want to make sure that you don’t put the oil on the bottom of your feet (because hey, that would not be good for walking anywhere afterwards!

And especially not good for getting ready to dance in high heels…you want your feet to be naturally “tacky” for that :))

And then start with your feet (avoiding the bottom)…and massage the oil into the top of your feet, thanking them for carrying you everywhere you go…

And then, using long strokes, massage the oil up your calves and then your thighs, swirling around your knees and appreciating the strength of your legs and all of the adventures they have given you….

Smooth the oil up your stomach, around your booty and up your lower back…always moving the oil in the direction of your Heart!

Find something to love and appreciate about your stomach, your booty, your back….

And then once you reach your heart, start again with your hands and arms…

Massage the oil up your arms, down your shoulders, under your arm pits…again always working the oil and the massage motions towards your heart.

And then end by placing both hands over your heart, closing your eyes, taking a deep breath and loving and appreciating yourself for giving this awesome gift to yourself.

 

2. And then…

I like to spend at least 10 minutes walking around the apartment…or doing my hair and makeup in the bathroom…
