So, I’ve been gone for a little while from the world of blogging and being outwardly expressive.
I’ve been teaching a weekly dance class here in Des Moines, Iowa…and working as an Executive Director of a small & vibrant cultural dance non-profit (so fun)!…
AND–I’ve been baking a nutrient-dense sweet potato biscuit/soup dumpling bun-in-the-oven over here!
Hello, booty-shaking motherhood
It’s been a very up & down journey to become a momma at this time in my life.
In my younger adult years—I’ve really loved focusing on being a teacher, building a nonprofit (and then re-building one), and having music & dance as an “evening career” for most of my life!
Two things that helped tip the scale and make me feel ready to become a mom are First, having an awesome husband and Second, really getting it together with my nutrition and self-care…
All good ingredients to becoming more “emotionally available” and ready/able to be a mom.
However, wanting to be a mom & becoming a mom when you’re a little bit older are two different things!

Eating for Energy and Moving your Booty to feel GOOD (and look good, too!)

One thing that I’ve been working on these past few years is the nutrition side of things. I feel like I found mastery-level teachers with strength training and dance, and those teachers have sped my progress in those fields.
I think after several years of intensive nutrition study, and a ridiculous amount of reading & lots of writing—I found both mastery-level teachers…
Plus now a new motivation & determination to share:
This ding-dang coronvirus-19.
It’s calling me back online to share my joy & energy…my inspiration around taking care of your health, mindset & energy…and my love of music art dance & creativity…
Even though I will plan to go strong here in the last few days (how many days?? :)) before Baby Wu comes and we do some serious nesting for a bit…
I have an incredible amount of stuff I have been creating over the years (and the past 10 of sharing online) that I can put out here for people to enjoy. In the near future, you’ll be able to work with me more closely if you want to, as well.
For now—I’m just focused on sharing what’s easiest to share right now…and finding ways to make the best of staying at home, being pregnant & about to welcome this new human into our world + the ongoing uncertainty this pandemic is creating around the people and world we love and the economic stability of things, too.
So, no time like the present to share some health-care & booty movement joy!

We’re rocking it at a Caribbean Carnaval party (my last big labor of love as Interim Executive Director with a small & fabulous dance nonprofit here)

I’m 35 weeks preggo in this video & I’ve been SO thankful to be able to dance through my pregnancy!! So proud of these dancers, too!
