Yes, that’s me! Recently hitched to my favorite dance partner, Tommy Wu…

And I love strength training & dancing! 🙂

I’m excited to share my booty movin’ secrets to get a sexy, fit body that you love…and doing it in a do-able, fun Lifestyle Fitness way.

I’m currently living in Des Moines, teaching a Samba dance class here :)…recently moved from New York City, and I’ve been dancing Samba semi-professionally.

And I love spreading the good word about the power of combing booty-focused strength training with Dancing ..through my online Workout & Dance Programs and my blog here.

and I enjoy helping people get into a Fitness Flow with movement…

and get hot results you love. I think a lot of people thing that you have “work hard” to get in shape…and instead, I’ve found that fitness can indeed be really fun & pleasurable (and effective)…when you focus on moving & using your booty! 🙂

I also see a lot of friends and hear from customers too..that they get inspired & motivated to workout and get fit, get healthier…but that it’s really hard to keep going and sustain that “motivation.” That’s where I think the mindset of being a Booty Shaker is really powerful…being someone who sees yourself already as a fit person…and makes daily choices that GO with that belief! 🙂

And I’ve seen that if you want to burn fat and build shapely curves…and just feel energized, healthy and fit…the best thing you can make as a base for your weekly movement is strength training. And add in some “cardio” by doing something as gentle as briskly walking…or have fun feeling sexy & beautiful in your body, with dancing with your Hips & freely shaking your booty! 🙂
And it’s really important to do things to release stress every day too…as Stress can really disrupt your hormonal balance and make it difficult to sleep well at night too…so I personally like seeing my movement as my #bodytime.

Plus what you eat is incredibly important…you want to eat food that gives you a solid base of energy…and creates the optimal conditions in your body to both burn fat & build muscle…so that means yes, you want to make sure you’re getting enough protein (and doing it in a way that’s good for the earth and your budget)…and getting in your veggies so that you feel full…and making Good Fats the *superstar* of your meals! Good Fats are delicious and they can allow you to feel satisfied, nurtured and give you the energia you need to werk it too.

More about Theresa

I created the Booty Pump Fitness Program to help movement lovers around the world enjoy getting strong, dancing with ease and pleasure…and getting perky, round RESULTS…with simple & sexy booty-focused strength training…and having fun shaking your hips & booty.

I’m a certified personal trainer, a long-time dance teacher, and an international health & education program creator. After my brief stint as a high school English teacher, I founded a non-profit organization called Mariposa’s Art.

During my eleven years as Executive Director, the organization served over 14,600 youth, providing high school students with paid career internships teaching art and music to thousands of elementary school children. And Mariposa’s Art is still going strong in Santa Cruz, CA…

I then went on to re-design a national health and beauty curriculum for the Girl Scouts of the USA (not currently published), called Uniquely Me!, to provide girls and women the opportunity to develop media awareness skills, a deeper sense of self-love, artistic self-expression, and the opportunity to be leaders in their local and global communities.

Samba dance has transformed my relationship with my body and my entire life. I fell in love with Samba, and I have studied, performed, and taught it as an “evening career” the past fifteen years.

My “evening career” of Dancing has taken me to perform and compete at famous arenas and events (Fox Theater – Oakland, Carnival – San Francisco, Copacabana–NYC), and teach both at a community and a corporate level (Booty Dance Camp – Santa Cruz, Google – Mountain View and New York City).

It’s also taken me around the world studying and dancing at some amazing places, including Brazil, California, New York, Paris, and London.

I’ve danced at music festivals, MAZDA Raceway starting lines, cruise ships, and grand-scale electronic music parties…and I love to dance Samba with fire and on stilts!

I’m also a musician and artist. I’ve studied & performed classical music, all the way through college…and currently love playing the Brazilian bass drum called the surdo and designing electrifying dance costumes. I enjoy incorporating my talents with musical performance, costume design, and art into everything I do.

And although I miss teaching high school & middle school students…I LOVE teaching fitness, dance & health internationally…and celebrating the power & pleasure of moving your booty!

My mission is to invite people to step into “BodyJoy”–a special term I created to sum up the amazing feeling of connecting your mind, body, and spirit.

I love encouraging people all over the world to get their “movement meditation” on, with simple & sexy booty-focused strength training…and feel sexy & beautiful by moving with Brazilian flair…

Past Health & Education work: Former credentialed high school English teacher, middle school English, elementary school music and even a semester of Kindergarten (so fun!) Founded and directed a nonprofit called Mariposa’s Art for 11 years…the non profit is still going strong! Wrote a districtwide curriculum for Pajaro Valley Unified School District, to train adult enrichment teachers…and created an after-school program called “Teach” where we train high school students to be teachers, pay them & then they teach elementary & middle school classes art/music/science/fitness classes after-school.Created and developed self-esteem, art, dance & mural painting workshop programs for the Girl Scouts of Santa Clara County…painted 18 murals in partnership with them. Re-wrote an expanded version of the national Uniquely Me program for the Girl Scouts of the USA (not currently published)
